Cute Lil' Guy!

I was trying to capture some cute pictures today of the kids. You'll notice my new header on the blog of all three kids together. It's hard to get all of them looking in the same direction at the same time...especially Joel, he just doesn't cooperate sometimes...I try, but he doesn't follow instructions well. I'll keep working with him. :)
Here's Joel laying in his crib.

Alayna loves to find a stool and look in on her baby brother. I have to keep an eye on her though, as she likes to cover his head with blankets sometimes.

Neither Alayna or Joel were thrilled about their circumstances, which is what makes this such a great picture. Torturing my children while taking their picture is what I do best...hey, it's my only outlet as a stay-at-home mom of three. I need some entertainment. :)

Julie's Graduation

A week ago my brother and dad came up to get my mom & grandma, who had spent the week helping us. Here's a picture of Uncle Doug and his nieces and nephew.

Before saying good-bye to everyone we had to capture a group shot. However, my mom is not in the picture, since she was the photographer. Sorry mom.
I think I'm looking a little tired in this picture...I wonder why?

Mommy & her two sleeping babies. Yes, I still think of Alayna as my baby, too. After all, she's only 21 months old. She was so tired this day that she fell asleep in my arms while I rocked both her & Joel. What a precious moment.

Julie has officially graduated from pre-school! She was very reluctant to wear her special graduation cap. Dave was able to convince her to wear it, after promising to show her pictures of him wearing a graduation cap, when we got home. She finally agreed. She was impressed by the pictures of Dave in his cap & gown. Graduation from seminary with a Master of Divinity degree, and pre-school graduation...kind of the same thing, right? :)

The pre-school grad! I couldn't be more proud! Her future plans: Kindergarten!

The Girls

The girls enjoyed the heat wave we had last week, much more than the rest of us. They enjoyed playing in their pool.

My Grandma Andrews spent last week with us. She came up with my mom, and they were such a great help to me. The girls enjoyed all the "extra" attention they got. Here's a picture of Grandma playing Candy Land. I took it through the window of our back door, so they wouldn't see me.

Last week Julie's pre-school took a field trip to the Kingston Fire Station. Dave took her, and she really seemed to enjoy it. She especially liked sitting in a fire truck.
This is her last week of school, and Thursday she'll have a pre-school graduation at the park. It's hard to believe she'll be off to Kindergarten in the fall.

Joel

Here are a few pictures of Joel. Hopefully I can get more posted soon. My mom & grandma have been here this whole week, which has really helped for my recovery and my sanity! I will be sad to see them go on Sunday.
Joel is doing really great, and he even seems to have his days & nights figured out already. Although he's only 11 days old, so things can change again tomorrow (or tonight). But, so far, so good...

Joel & my mom. I love how alert he is in this picture.

Sleeping soundly in his bassinet.

We've Reached Five Miles!

Hey! It's me, Dave, writing this post. I'm the Jr. Assistant blogger for Kristen. The head blogger is in a hospital bed holding the fith Miles. Yup that's right! It's been a long road (pun intended), but he is now on the outside.

His name is Joel Philip Miles. He is 8 lbs. 7 ozs. and 21 inches long. And as you'll see he has carried on the family "hair" tradition.

Kristen and baby went through alot. Her labor started at 12:30AM, Monday. Her labor went very well but when she began pushing his heart rate kept dropping and staying low. So they did an emergency "C" section. And it's a good thing. His cord was wrapped arround his neck and his back facing Kristen's back (Not the best direction). But now they are doing great, though Kristen's recovery will be a little slower. He was born at 7:24AM June 2nd.

They should be home Thursday. Thanks for all your prayers! Julie and Alayna are proud big sisters. Julie's been concerned about Mommy and baby. She has alot of questions about Kristen's cut on her tummy. And Alayna just points, touches, and says, "Hi, Baby." I'm not sure she realizes he's coming home with us soon.

Can't wait to show Joel off to every one of you! Oh, and I'm doing fine. Thanks for asking.
