Daddy's Little Boy????

Yesterday we received this wonderful package in the mail from our good friends, Alex & Melissa. The package included 3 onesies for our baby boy. The onesies say "Daddy's Little Boy," "Mommy's Little Boy," and "I'm the Little Brother." They are really cute, and I can't wait for him to wear them...first I can't wait for him to arrive. He still has 4 more weeks of "baking" to do before he's done. :)
After receiving this gift in the mail Dave took Alayna in to change her diaper. I knew he was up to something when it was taking him a long time to change a wet diaper. When they came out of the room this is how she was dressed. Notice the camo hat, and camo sneakers, she's wearing with the new onesie. I guess Dave is more anxious about having a boy than I realized. LOL!

Our New Nephew

Dave's brother, Nathan, and his wife, Kristy, just had their second baby this past Thursday. Baby Nathan William weighed 7lbs. 12oz. Kristy and "Baby Nate" are doing well, and they were able to go home Friday. We went up to see them Sunday and take a peak at our new nephew. It seems a little surreal that in five weeks we will have one that tiny again. You forget how small they really are.

Having Fun Making Faces

Julie was having a good time making faces at the camera, while I took pictures of her today. She was laying up in the "fort" section of her swing set, while I took pictures of her from below. I thought they turned out pretty cute and wanted to share them with you.

An Afternoon Outside

Here are some pictures from today. The weather was beautiful & sunny. The girls and I spent a couple hours outside playing, after their naps. They enjoyed the fresh air, and playing on all their fun outside toys.

Julie's Birthday Party in PA

Julie was very excited about having a birthday party at Mimi & Papa's house. She requested that I make her a frog cake, so that is what I did...as you may recall she already had a bunny cake at her party with Dave's side of the family.

 

Julie's Frog Cake...this was a pretty simple cake to make. I baked 1 9" round cake, and used the rest of the batter to make cupcakes. I used two of the cupcakes for the eyes. The eyes are white frosting, then I cut a chocolate egg in half for the pupils. I bought a tube of red decorating gel to make the mouth, and the nose is two chocolate chips turned upside down.

 

Dave & Julie decorated Mimi & Papa's dining room for the party (Julie is hidden behind the wall). They decorated with Strawberry Shortcake streamers. Mimi was a good sport to let them tape up the streamers. :)

Playing Outside with Papa

The girls and I recently took a trip to Pennsylvania, to visit my parents for 10 days. We were originally to take this trip in March, but due to all the illness in our home, it was postponed until the first week of April. I'm so glad we waited, since we were all healthy when we went, and the weather turned out to be beautiful...not always the case in "Dreary Erie."
We did lots of fun things while we were there. Julie and I spent an evening at Chuck E Cheese with Uncle Doug, Aunt Andrea, Danika and some friends of Doug & Andrea's. It was nice to have that "special" time with Julie, while my parents took care of Alayna. We spent one morning of our trip taking "Mimi" (my mom) to a lab for blood work, then to the hospital to have an EKG. These were all tests she had to have done before starting her new "clinical trial" chemo drug. The girls were very good on this outing, so we rewarded them with a trip to the library where my mom works. They enjoyed meeting my moms co-workers, and Julie spent time in the children's library choosing books and videos to check out.
We also took a tour of the house my dad is now renovating. I really wish I had taken some pictures, so I could post them for you. It's quite a piece of work. My brother works with my dad on the renovations, and they literally have this house stripped to the bare studs. It will be beautiful when it's finished, but that's not the case now. When we pulled up to the house I mentioned to my mom that the house was ugly, so Julie picked up on that. She named the house "the ugly house," and kept calling it that while we were there...sure hope we didn't hurt your feelings, dad. We know it will be spectacular when it's finished. :)
Since the weather was so nice, most of the time, we were able to spend time outside playing. As you can see in the pictures below, the girls were having a great time with their Papa (my dad).

Julie loved when he rode them over rocks and bumps. Alayna kept slipping farther into the wheel barrow with each bump.
