Grandma Bierer's 80th B'day Celebration

This past Saturday we surprised my Grandma Bierer with a party for her 80th Birthday. We all gathered at my grandparents house, and had a nice time. Here are some pics from our celebration.

Day to Day Stuff

The sun is shining!! The sun HAS been shining all week!!! I can't even begin to explain how good a little sunshine feels for my weary soul. I look outside at 5:30, when I'm putting dinner on the table, and I have to close the curtains by the sliding glass door because the sun is shining so brightly into the kitchen it is blinding. I love this problem!!! I definitely have spring fever.

Wednesday we took the kids outside at daycare. What fun to watch them play in the snow, in 30 degree temps, and have it not be so bitter cold. They needed the fresh air. I needed the fresh air! Other than the few kids that absolutely refused to keep their mittens on, we had a great time.

Julie is really beginning to read well, and comprehend so much more. It is fun to watch the learning process. She memorizes her verses well for Fridays verse quiz. Her teacher said she does the best out of the whole class. She is also doing well in math, and seems to really enjoy the subject.

Today I cancelled Julie's bus route. It was getting confusing to have her ride the bus on days I don't work. My schedule changes each week, and after two mix ups this week I decided it was finally time to cancel the bus service. Dad will take her to school in the morning, and I will pick her up. The days I work, then she'll ride in with me. Easy enough.

Dave is enjoying his job, and next week is a community open house. He's been busy with the planning process, and we are praying for many new prospective students.

Dad, Dave (part-time) & Doug continue to work away on the house dad is currently re-doing. I've been very involved in the planning process, and it's been a lot of fun to watch it come together. When it's finished I'll have to post before and after pictures.

Julie turns 7 this month, and I turn 32. Ugh! Joel is acting more and more like a two year old every day - although he has three more months before he's oficially two. His favorite word is "no!" Stated in a very loud tone. Yesterday he crumbled corn bread all over the kitchen floor while dad was babysitting - he continues to be our most destructive child...but I love 'em. :)

I am thankful for the sunshine, my family and God's faithfulness. We have now lived in Erie for 5 months. It has been an emotional 5+ months for many reasons, but we continue to see God's hand in our lives, and are grateful for his provisions.
